A CARBOY update

Hey everyone! I wanted to reach out and try to answer some questions you may have about CARBOY and our plans to resume club activities. After some discussion among the club leadership, we’ve decided that a June meeting is just too soon to resume normal meeting. If only from a logistical point of view, most of the venues that normally host our meeting need every inch of space as they try to space out seating 6ft. It would be unfair to even ask them to accommodate our normal 25+ member meetings where they could be using that space to drive badly needed revenue. In addition, the health and safety of the members of CARBOY are front and center, and so we need to work out the logistics of what a meeting even looks like.

All of this being said, there are a few things we can do. First, we will be organizing a CARBOY group zoom (video chat) on what would be our normal meeting day this month, June 24. More details regarding this will follow on both the website and Facebook. Second, I would ask anyone that has a LARGE backyard/outdoor meeting space/farm/etc that would be willing to host a well spaced meeting in July to please reach out to us. It is one of the possible avenues we are looking into. Finally, if you are out of beer, please consider visiting one of our many club sponsors to refill. Most if not all of them have contact free shopping and pickup, and some have even opened their doors to a limited crowd for service on-site. They are all dealing with a large revenue loss and are hurting. Lets support them as they have supported us over the years. A full list of sponsors is to follow in a later message.

Finally, There are a number of great online resources for continuing homebrewing education, and I encourage everyone to take advantage of them. Below are some of my favorite, and if you have others I encourage you to share them in the comments below.

Stay tuned for more information.
