Title: Carboy merchandise store is now open
Post by: kevint on January 25, 2013, 09:11:23 AM
We have created a store at queensboro.com for people to buy items that are embroidered with the Carboy logo.  We are not marking up the items.  The pricing is set by Queensboro.  We should be able to add additional Queensboro items as requested.

Take a look at the store and post any questions, issues or comments regarding an items you purchase.

Very nice!  But I think we should have CARBOY members modeling the merchandise.

I agree. Very nice. Prices aren't bad either for an embroidered product. However, if you truly want to sell the merchandise, I wouldn't have CARBOY members modeling the items.

As long as we stick to shirts, I think CARBOY models would be fine.  I've seen groups that had thongs available.

Pretty cool!  But that one guy has an iced tea in his hand????  Really should be a pilsner or if they want to stay with the orange, a hefeweizen or Belgian Wit?

Is it only embroidered stuff?  No screen prints?

I'd like one of the Dickey's work shirts with a big CARBOY logo on the back in addition to the embroidered one on the chest

Not sure that's an option.  Here are some snippets from their printing FAQ page:

Q. Can my logo be printed in two locations?

A. Yes, you can choose to have your logo printed in two locations such as left chest and full back for an additional fee. For all digitally printed items the second logo location will add $2.50 per item. However, screen printed items the second logo location price will be based on the number of items ordered and is included with the pricing information on each style page.

Q. Can I order embroidered shirts and printed shirts on the same order?

A. Not at this time. However, you can of course place separate orders for embroidered shirts and printed shirts.

Q. Why can't I order the same items for digital print that I can for embroidery?

A. Digital printing is a very specific process which requires apparel especially designed for direct to garment printing. While embroidery can be done on a large variety of materials, digital print can only be done on cotton fabrics. Some of our most popular items for embroidery will not work for digital printing due to the fabric content, texture and ornamentation such as buttons or zippers. You will find our complete line of items available for digital printing under our Printed Apparel categories.

EDIT: plus I don't see the Dickies shirts listed under digitally printed items:

I received a sample polo shirt with our embroidered logo and it looks good.

The digital printing is almost setup.  I've asked them to remove the URL from the logo.  It should be complete in the next couple of days so please don't order digital printed items until you see the logo without the URL.

All items Queensboro offers can be seen here:

If there are items you are interested in that aren't in our store please post here or PM me and we'll see if they can be added.

Like I said they don't have that capability.  They don't have the capability to have orders with both printed and embroidered items on one order.  It would seem the Dickies material is not suited for printing since they don't have it listed under digital printed items.

EDIT: We can provide the logo so you can have the shirt silk screened.

I have updated the list of items available in the store.  I basically added everything Queensboro would allow.  Even gave the capability to order items that don't have logos.  This has added a lot of items to the store so please take another look.

Some items, such as hats, require additional logo setup.  So far the store setup has been free.  If there is enough interest in hats, etc I will find out the cost and determine if the officers are willing to pay the extra setup fees.

Looks like we have had one person order already.  Please let us know if you are happy with your items.

Some suggestions from the perpetual complainer   8)

It would make it easier to shop if we didn't have to page through 6 screens of T-shirts to find the 10 or 12 items that had our CARBOY logo on them.  Do people actually plan on buying non-logo items?

I don't understand how the screen printed apparel section works.  Is this just a bulk buy option. . . . like we have to buy 50 shirts of the same kind?  If so, unless the club plans to buy a stack to hand out to new members, I'd recommend removing this section also.

It looks like the digitally printed men's shirts only come in white and gray (with some pink, yellow, baby blue, and beige available on 1 shirt).  Looks like I'll be getting a white shirt.  Ho hum.

The store is setup this way to ease administration so I don't have people asking for this and that.  Its all there and available.  Who knows, someone may find an item they want without a logo.  You can allows increase the number of items per page to reduce the number of pages.

I will gladly hand over the administration tasks to anyone who feels the store should be setup differently and is willing to work on it.

I got my order a couple days ago and am completely satisfied. I'm just happy we FINALLy got this done. Every year, we seem to go thru this exercise before the NHC or Charlotte Ofest and as far as I know, this is the first time in over 9 years, the club followed thru. Thanks very much to those who pulled it off this time.

I had no problem navigating the site. My only complaint ( and its my own color blind fault) I got a sky blue T and its more like a baby powder blue.

Thanks again for the follow thru.

Walt S. , a satisfied customer.  :D

I haven't spent much time reviewing all the color combinations of the logos and merchandise.  If you see something that looks bad or would like a different combination let me know so I can make the changes.

I put in an order yesterday.  The site and flow looked good to me.

I think we should all provide feedback on particular items as we get them.  I considered a couple of other things but just wasn't sure what they'd be like.  I'll post a note on mine when they come in.

T-shirt was nice. Great design quality. Seems to be a nice enough for the money shirt.

Hat..less than thrilled with. But I suspect it's my fault. Great stitching, looks good on the front. And decent quality.  But in a huge font "Calloway" on the back (as big as the CARBOY on the front). Now the online thing did say it was a Calloway hat. Didn't think about the fact they would have their advertising on the back.

Packaged very well. I'd order again from them, but would pay MUCH closer attention to what was being offered and the descriptions..

Thanks, Glenn!

Now when you go out golfing, you are allowed to have a homebrew!

Or is it that when you're homebrewing you can have a golf club?

They should be paying you to wear that hat!!

For those wanting to order stuff for NHC should do it soon as it will likely take 2 weeks for delivery.

I've been on that site over a dozen times, and I always have intentions of buying something, but then I have concerns about how the item will look or fit, so I decide against it.

Don't get the cheapest T-shirt since they are kinda thin. Go for something more meaty. Everything I got looks swell.

I would suggest you skip the screen printed items.

How do you know whether a T-shirt is more "meaty" than another?  They often don't say the weight.

I also can't rely on the colors being accurately portrayed by those swatches.  I'd prefer something other than white or beige.  If I order something that looks "pumpkin" orange and get something that is "traffic cone" orange, then I'll be pissed.

Bill, take a look at the shirts that Walt or George or others have and wear around.  That will give you an idea of colors and fabric.

Just bumping this thread for those new to the club who are not familiar with our store to buy club logo'd items.  It takes a couple weeks to receive the order.  Plan ahead if you plan to order items for the Charlotte O'fest or other club events.

Looks like they are currently giving $25 off orders over $75.
