Last post by tsedgar - March 04, 2024, 04:18:02 PM
*******News from the Cellarmaster*******

I'm looking for some help loading, unloading, and transporting Shamrock Beer Entries.  Right now, we only have 3 volunteers including myself for this activity.  We have 9 coolers/bins full of 300 entries that need to go from my house in NW Raleigh to Clouds Brewing Taproom Friday afternoon.  Don't have a truck or SUV, no problem!  Please be here as an extra set of hands to load and unload.

When: Friday March 8th 1pm to 2pm

Where: Northwest Raleigh House (email Chris H or Tom Edgar for the address) to Clouds Brewing Taproom (1233 Front St, Raleigh, NC 27609).

Please email, call, or text me if you can help out.

Hey everyone!

Day by day we are getting closer to the Shamrock XXIX competition.  Very exciting!!  I'm looking for some assistance collecting, sorting, and transporting entries to Clouds Brewing for judging.

Here's the details:

Entry Pickup Day Friday 3/1/2024

Volunteers need to pick up entries from America Brewmaster, Atlantic Brew Supply, and Bull City Homebrew  (please check websites or call for store hours) the evening Friday March 1st or morning of March 2nd.  Atlantic Brew Supply requested for entries to all be picked up by Friday March 1st.
You can drop off entries to my house.

Sorting Day Saturday 3/2/2024

Sorting Day is Saturday March 2nd starting at 1pm at my house.
We have 9 amazing volunteers so far to help sort 300 entries and could use 2-3 more.  More than that, we'll be in each other's way.
I have 7 to 8 tables from myself and neighbors but think we could use a couple more.  If you're volunteering, please let me know if you can bring a card table or folding table.
We'll have some refreshments and snacks for all the hard workers :)
It should take 3-4 hours

Transport Day Friday 3/8/2024

I have one SUV but need 3 or 4 more helpers with SUV, Trucks, or other vehicles to take coolers and tubs of the entries over to Clouds Brewing ( 1233 Front St, Raleigh, NC 27609) the afternoon/evening of Friday March 8th.
We could also use extra hands loading and unloading the tubs and coolers.  A little heavy!

I live in NW Raleigh about a 1/2 mile from Seven Oaks Swim & Tennis.  Happy to send more details (including my address) for all interested volunteers.

Please feel free to contact me.

CARBOY News / September CARBOY meeting
Last post by swmurph - September 15, 2021, 12:06:45 PM
The September CARBOY meeting is at Oaklyn Springs Brewery at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 22.

2912 N. Main Street, Suite 100
Fuquay-Varina, NC  27540
E  /  Info@oaklynsprings.com
T  /  (919) 762-0049

Going south on US 401 (Fayetteville Avenue), it is in a small group of stores on the left, shortly after you pass the John Heister Chevrolet dealership. Look for the "Brewery" sign (or 2) and make a u-turn.

Come early and enjoy some of former CARBOY member Rusty's great creations.

There are a pizza restaurant and a sushi restaurant in the same group of stores. They will bring them to the brewery for you.

Added the Shamrock XXV 2020 folder ... And removed whatever the error that was showing ... And then started putzing around on the Forum today when I had a few dozen higher priorities to focus on ...

Found that the default setting for permissions doesn't include 'Losers' which are people with only a few posts ... That's why some of you can't see anything ... Working on changing that ...

Started making some changes to how the posts are managed over time ... Let me know what you think and if you are having any issues ...

Created 'Archive' folders to group specific topics ... It would allow you to quickly scan through those topics/posts and see what happened in the past (ie Mead Day) ... Give you a feel for what we've done and maybe have forgotten ...

The current activity would still be posted in the usual folders ... The current and past few CARBOY meetings in the EVENTS folder ... but as the event is no longer relevant, it would be pushed to the appropriate 'Archive' folder (yes this will take some effort on someone's part)

Have put a 'child' folder in Events for 'Carboy Meetings' ... I don't like how it is at the top of the screen ... And a couple of different Archives in a new Category 'Archive - Events' ...

There is a lot that this app provides that we don't use ... Because we don't know ... If there are some of you that are conversant in SimpleMachines, how about putting together a '15 minute User Training' that we could present at a CARBOY meeting? If not, I'll work on that as I learn some more ...

Gary,

You can post the image on Facebook but it needs to be on the Internet somewhere. In Facebook, you open the image, right click and choose Copy Image Address and then paste it in between the two IMG tags (when you click insert image icon above). The image I included is one from my FB page.

Gary,
As far I understand it. You need to upload an image to a image server first, for example http://imgur.com/

Once your upload the image, you can then use the image's url with the image tag, for example:
[img]http://i.imgur.com/VkQ4JmB.gif[/img]

will produce the image below.

There may be other ways to do this, but this is how I know how to do it. Make sure the image url you provide containts the file extension (e.g., gif, jpg, etc)

Very cool!  Thanks, Gary!  I'll try to remember to take my copy to the next meeting, too.
